the art of writing

Hello is anybody there? I'm back! well I never really left I was just hiding in the shadows is all.
So I'm writing today as I received the most beautiful card in the mail from a very dear friend with a hand written note inside. I mean the card itself was so nice but the written words really got to me. I actually got a little teary eyed. I had no idea that I had inspired this person. It was nice to hear that I had an impact on her life. The words we say to one another on a daily basis really do impact us.
There is nothing like going to get the mail and getting a card, a letter that someone took the time to sit down and write just to you. Yes we have email and texts and all the jazz. It's not the same. We no longer take the time to hand write a letter. So to receive one today brought some extra joy into my day. I mean it made me feel really really good. I used to be that person who would send cards and write letters for no reason. All the time actually. I would say in the last 3 or 4 years though I have almost completely stopped. I do not know if it's laziness or I just gave up because I didn't think the person really cared or not. Who knows. Getting that card today reminded me of the bigger picture though. I need to get back to the art of writing and sending letters and cards for no reason with the hopes that it may or may not put a smile on someones face.

I challenge all of my FB friends to write at least one hand written note this month to a family, friend, or whoever you think needs a smile. It could change someones day and maybe in the process you may love it and continue to keep writing. Stranger things could happen :)

P.S. Thank you Kelly for making my day and putting a smile on my face. This blog is for you xoxoxo
